Can I get a same-day appointment?
Yes! Piper Spine Care offers same-day appointments for fracture care! This also includes spinal fractures, so please make sure when you call you let us know you would like a same-day fracture care appointment.
Will my insurance cover my visit?
It is best to call you insurance directly to get an answer to this question. We are currently in-network with most major insurances; however, every plan differs slightly and the only way to know for sure is to call yourself.
When do I pay my co-pay?
You are required to pay your co-pay at the time of your appointment. Your co-pay is determined by your insurance company.
Will I Need a Referral?
If you have a medicare replacement program, you will most likely need an insurance referral from your primary care doctor. You will need to call them prior to your appointment with us and have them fax or electronically send their referral. Our fax number is 636-229-5011. Make sure they include a diagnosis.
How Long Is the Wait for Surgery?
Dr. Piper and Dr. Rummel's schedules change weekly; however, there is usually a wait no longer than 4-6 weeks for surgery. If you have an emergent issue that requires immediate attention, this will receive priority over long-standing/chronic issues. Of course, we do our very best to get everyone in as quickly as is safely possible.
What other facilities is Piper Spine Care Associated with?
Drs. Piper, Hemmer, and Rummel are on staff with St. Joseph Hospital - Lake St. Louis & St. Charles. Additionally they are on staff at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters and Progress West Hospitals.
